Review: The Adventures of Jillian Spectre

The Adventures of Jillian Spectre is a paranormal/fantasy book that follows a girl named Jillian, a teenager living in New York's Mystic Quarter, who has the ability to see into the futures of her clients, even after death. But it gets cooler- She can also be in two places at once; but the catch? Her heart can only be in one.
Super cool powers aside, Jillian is just like any normal girl. Well, any normal girl with a best friend that just so happens to be an actual muse and has amazonian good looks to top. A normal girl torn between two guys, one of which is a telepath, and the other can you know, read minds. Throw in an estranged father she long thought dead who has a plan to take down society, and yeah, she's got a lot on her plate!
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. The characters, tone and plot kept me captivated from the very beginning. Jillian narrates this book and keeps it very entertaining, she's sassy, funny, and witty, and I loved getting to read the book from her point of view! Her best friend is the kind of kick-butt, hilarious and all around cool friend we all wish we had. I loved all the characters, even her stereo typical fortune teller mom. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast paced story with some pretty amazing characters! The sequel comes out some time next year, and I'm definitely going to be getting it! 4.5 out of 5 noodles!

Top 5 Authors I Want to Meet

I have a certain respect for some one who can write a good story. To be able to create worlds and characters, and pay attention to every little detail like these people do, is a genius of it's own. These are my Top 5 Authors that I think it would be simply amazing to meet!
1. JK Rowling- I feel like this one is a given for anyone my age... She created the magical world of Harry Potter, that we all escape to time and time again. She's the genius creator of a truly timeless story, one that I know 'll definitely be passing down to my kids.

2. John Green- Famous for both his writing and his youtube videos, John Green, founder of Nerdfiteria, has a writing style that is completely compelling. Iv'e loved all his books that I've read, and he seems like such an awesome person!

3. Harper Lee- She is the fabled writer of To Kill a Mockingbird. I feel like to meet her would be fascinating. I'd get to find out if TKM was really based on her, be able to meet the real life Scout Finch. And it would be an amazing opportunity to see her view into our country's past, and I can't help but think she's got some amazing stories up her sleeve!

4. Sarah Dessen- Sarah Dessen writes books about young love, summer, and the power of friendship. Her books are contemporary classics that I never get tired of reading, and that always give me a warm summery feeling. Her books have accompanied me through many summer vavations, and even inspired me to take a roadtrip of my own. (that never got around to actually happening, but still...) It would be awesome to meet her!

5. Jane Austen- I know this one is a little unrealistic, but maybe the Doctor can let me hitch a ride and we can go pay her a visit sometime. Jane Austen is one of the most influential writers in history, and her stories have been passed down and loved for generations. She would be so interesting!

So how about you? Who are your favorite authors that you'd like to meet?
